What IVE Can Do For Your Schools

If you are a school administrator, Integrated Vocational Education (IVE) has the potential of increasing your ADA and decreasing your drop-out rate. This is accomplished by motivating your students--making them want to come to school and take an active part in their classes. IVE students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own education and for the environment in which they learn.

If you are a teacher, it can makes your "prep time" more productive, lessons easier to present, and turn your students into motivated, eager learners. IVE lessons and materials are specially formatted to encourage group learning, to engage the tactile-kinesthetic learner, and to foster a kind of peer "tutoring" which can turn every student in the class into an assistant teacher.

If you are a parent, the schools your children attend can become the focus of their interest--a "fun" place to learn and an outlet for their creative expression. Your student is not "tracked" into limited opportunities--to the contrary, he or she is constantly being reinforced with the idea that the only limits on the future are those they place there. Our children will have to live--and compete-- in a world economy. They don't deserve, and can't afford, anything less than a comprehensive, world-class education. Students "hooked" on learning, especially in social-learning environments, tend to learn more and have less problems because they are encouraged to excel in their own way and at their own pace.

If you are a student, you can do better in every aspect of school life and learn more because you are provided with reasons to learn. Nobody likes to do things because they "have to," and it is a lot more fun learning things by seeing (and using) their practical applications. Of course there are always some things you have to learn "just because that's the way things are." But most of your learning in an IVE class is achieved through experimentation and discovery--the fun stuff!

And, finally, if you are an employer, the schools which train future employees become active partners in the success and growth of your business by teaching the skills those employees are going to need to make your business more competitive and more profitable. Better trained, better educated employees are more productive. They take "pride and ownership" of their job responsibilities. They tend to display more initiative and creativity in the way their job is done. And, most important in today's ever-changing workplace, those employees are more capable--and more confident of their ability to master new methods and acquire new skills.

The Integrated Vocational Education concept is based on the idea that everyone can be a winner.
